Kundalini Yoga Practice  and Gong with Siri Atma Kaur –  Friday, March 23, 6-8 PM at Oak’s Crossing Conference Center followed by dinner at Kate’s Coffee ($45)

Friday, March 23 gather with Halcyon’s dear friend SiriAtma Kaur for a powerful evening of yoga and gong, followed by dinner at Kate’s Coffee. Our practice is appropriate for all, whether you are a beginner or very experienced. Kundalini yoga and gong from 6 to 8 PM at the Conference Center at Oaks Crossing, Dinner 8-9 PM at Kate’s Coffee House.

Kundalini Yoga consists of physical exercise, pranayama (breath work), mantra (chanting), mudra (hand positions), and mental focus or visualization, that make up a Kriya. A Kriya is a specific set of exercises that generate energy, organize that energy and deliver you to a specific energetic state – particularly one of greater awareness. We will practice a Kriya that is appropriate for all, whether you are a beginner or very experienced. You cannot stay the same when you practice Kundalini yoga…

SiriAtma’s gong sound healing session relaxes and rejuvenates with the healing and soothing sounds of the live gong. All you will need is your yoga mat, favorite blanket, and pillow. Some will be available at the studio as well. There will be some gentle breathing exercises to help ease you into a meditative state of mind. You might choose to lie down, or sit with your back supported against a wall. This experience helps to purify and quiet the mind as the sounds are not harmonious and will reset the brain waves in 3-90 seconds. On a physical level, the gong releases tension and blocks in the body, it stimulates a higher functioning of the glandular and nervous systems, it increases prana (our vital life force), and improves circulation. Anyone in need of stress reduction, recovering from trauma, struggling with addictions, insomnia, or nerve damage will greatly benefit from the vibrations of this ancient instrument.
